Hello you have NoScript, and the other content blockers it is highly unlikely that anything bad happened to your computer in such a short period of time. I wasn't able to find any information online whether the address would've actually lead to anything malicious or not, but I'm aware of the practice of typosquatting which is making me quite worried, but I don't think trying to access the site again to check it out is a wise decision.Īre there any additional steps I should or could take at this point to ensure everything is alright? I'm noticing no immediate effects on my computer - the resource usage in Task Manager looks like it always does.
All of these were allowed and running when I made the mistake, and immediately after I ran Malwarebytes which came up clean. I also have NoScript and uBlock, and a VPN. I am a paid Malwarebytes customer and have the Browser Guard installed. I recently typed 'oldreddit' instead of old.reddit(.com) into browser address bar and realized my mistake before the site loaded (hourglass icon still visible in the tab), immediately pressing the back button.
